Why do honey bees not fly on wheat ?

They don’t like to have bare cereals for breakfast.
You have to put some honey on the grains; otherwise these spoiled little foodies won’t even have a look at it.
Honey bees as pollinator are not attracted by gramineous crops like wheat. Nonetheless, during an aphid infestation honey dew is produced on cereals. Honey dew is a potential food source for bees that may allure them even into wheat fields.
Hence, eurofins-GAB performs honey bee studies on wheat. A sugar solution serves as an artificial substitute for honey dew.
