Miniaturisation at GAB

In the past we worked on large fields with large single seed drilling machines now we can work on small fields with small seed drilling machines. All this thanks to new micro-electronic involved in the drilling.
Unfortunately for us we are not able yet to miniaturise the operator. In fact we need now an additional one. But the work is more than 100% ok as certified by quality control.

New experimental precision single seed drilling machine

Last year eurofins-GAB purchased a new experimental precision single seed drilling machine.
You can see the new machine on the pictures.

It has two independently working aggregates. The aggregates (Optima NT2 from Accord) are driven by electronic motors and can work independently from each other. The motors are regulated by computer. The computer can store up to 20 field records as work statistic like start time and date, stop time and date, effective time and ineffective time, area, effective distance and ineffective distance …..
It is possible to use micro-application equipment and underground fertilisation with the single seed drilling machine.
This combination can be used in efficacy trials with fertilizer or granular insecticide. Other uses are field residue trials with plants or earthworms.
Because test substance application in litter bag trials should be as close as possible to use pattern an equipment like this is needed for trials with seed treatment or granular insecticide. The OECD guidance document number 56 on the Breakdown of organic matter in litter bags requires an application of seed treatments or granules according to the conditions of the product.
