Wintertime - holidays for the "German bees" but not for the Spanish ones!

Wintertime - holidays for the "German bees" but not for the Spanish ones!

Wintertime.........
Hard-earned rest after a stressy season for honey bees!!
All honey bees???

No! Our Spanish bee-colleagues continue working and thanks to them we are able to conduct honey bee lab studies (OECD 213 & 214) all year round.
In Germany, studies are conducted from April to September with honey bees of the sub-species Apis mellifera carnica. In October/November we pass our activities to our Spanish testing facility where studies are conducted with the local sub-species Apis mellifera mellifera until March/April.
In numerous tests it could be demonstrated, that the susceptibility of the two different sub-species is comparable. Therefore, the place of study conduct has no influence on the test results.
For detailed information please contact: Dr. Jutta Muether-Paul (jutta.muether-paul@eurofins-gab.com).
