Metabolism, degradation and dissipation give the information on the persistence of a chemical structure or its degradation product in the environment. The parameters of metabolism, degradation and dissipation of plant protection products and chemicals on aquatic organisms are examined in carefully controlled studies in compliance with the recent EC directive and OECD guidelines. The studies are performed either in the laboratory or under natural conditions in the field.
